[sebhc] download and printing problems?

Hi David,
I tried a Acrobat Reader 6.0 on a P200MMX/Win98SE/64M machine
and it was slow but no where near 1 click per minute. It was about 10-15
secs per click. And since the machine is headless, I was even connecting
over the network through VNC.
So it sounds like the comment about Win98 and version 5.0 not
playing well togather might be the issue. Another thing to look at
is whether or not the machine has enough memory. Although the
file is only 1.2M, each uncompressed page is going to be large. If
windows starts swapping you could easily see the slow times you
reported. Also with the printing taking even more time, it
appears that it could be a memory issue. Printing is going to take
up more memory for spooling, printer driver, etc. Was the hard
drive light constantly on during your attempt?
Mark
