The board I'd like to find for it is the H37/H47 controller. I'm even willing to build one myself if I can find enough documentation. I have built H37 controllers for the H89. In fact, I'm trying to do so now. I have PC boards, almost all the parts, and have one almost finished. If I can only find a source of Western Digital WD2143M-03 and WD1691PE chips I should be in business. The H8 board, being larger, may not have used these rare chips. There are alternate circuits, but they take more PC board space. Yes, I could happily put them to work. I have a blank Z898-37 board that is almost finished except for the missing Western Digital WD2143M-03 and WD1691PE chips, and a few other small parts. It is dated November 4, 1978 and, in addition to the instructions on how to install and use the software, the manual also includes the assembly language listing for the program. Also includes a schematic for a 'Parallel IO - Baudot' interface. Software written to run an H8 with the H17 DOS (HDOS). So very ancient software! Actually would be nice to get this captured as a digital file for posterity. Comes in a 3-hole ACCO binder so would be easy to break down for copying. Anyways I don't need this and will probably pitch it unless someone would like it. If you do want it, drop me a line - cost will be $3 to cover postage. Either check or PayPal (use my email address) would be fine. -- Delivered by the SEBHC Mailing List From garlanger at gmail.com Thu Oct 20 15:58:41 2005 From: garlanger at gmail.com (Mark Garlanger) Date: Thu, 20 Oct 2005 15:58:41 -0500 Subject: [sebhc] heath manuals on ebay. But I have not been able to get them to work. One board seemed to format- it spent about the right amount of time, but then failed on the validation phase. I hoping that I can get it working by using an oscilliscope to make the adjustments mentioned in the manual. But I don't have an oscilliscope, and not sure when I'll get one. On the second board, the lower plastic socket on the board was a little broken, and I was unable to get it installed. I need a replacement socket before I'll be able to test it, but it probably is also out of spec and needs adjustments. I have been unable to get a diag disk to do any other testing on the boards.
