gmail seems to be having issues, sorry if you receive this twice
Since you're using linux, you should have or be able to install wget
then. I'm not sure how much Linux/Unix experience you have, so some of
this may be obvious to you.
Once you have wget, create a text file with the following:
#!/bin/sh
wget -a mirror.log -nv -w 1 --mirror ftp://heathkit:hdos8bit@www.sebhc.org/
On my system, I named it 'mirrorSebhc', put it into a new 'heath'
directory. And make sure it's executable:
chmod +x mirrorSebhc
The first time you run it, it will create a 'www.sebhc.org'
subdirectory and download the entire archives into that directory. The
next time you run it, it will only download new/modified files, but it
still takes a little while for it to determine what, if any, changes
are on the site.
Usually, I just run it about once a month or when someone announces
new files. I'm not sure how much of a load it puts on the server,
otherwise I'd probably put it into a nightly crontab. The script does
have a 1 sec delay between retrievals to lessen the impact and still
download in a reasonable amount of time. It will also creates a file
name 'mirror.log' in the current directory showing everything it's
done.
