Well... it kinda boots:
When I boot the "HDOS16.H8D" image on my emulator,
I get this:
-----------------------------------------------
ACTION? <BOOT> BOOT <= I pressed ENTER here
SYSTEM HAS 56K OF RAM
Volume 255, Mounted On SY0:
Label: HDOS 1.6 Master Distribution for Mac H8 Emulator
HDOS Version 1.6
Issue # 50.05.00
?01 Disk Structure is Corrupt.
Contact HEATH Technical Correspondence for Assistance.
Boot Aborted. Will Restart ...
ACTION? <BOOT>
--------------------------------------------------
Wading through my disk register access logs, it looks
like: (format is TRACK:SECTOR)
- Immediately after hitting GO, the ROM reads 0:0-0:8
into RAM at #2280 and launches it. The loaded code
reads 0:9 and then issues the ACTION? prompt.
- The system then read:
0:9 (Again)
22:2
22:3
1:2 to 1:9
2:0 to 2:9
3:0 to 3:8
0:9 (again)
1:0
23:8
22:2
22:3
0:0 to 0:9
And this is where I get ACTION? again.
As far as I can tell from my logs, the data from each requested
sector was read from the right place and returned with the right
values....
Can anyone give me details of what HDOS is doing when it starts up
which might help be determine where it thinks the disk structure has
been corrupted?
I really need some insight - just these operations generates over a
megabyte of regster access log...
Regards,
Dave
