[sebhc] Soft sectored vrs hard sectored

Hi
 We've been mostly looking at the hard sectored
formats lately. One of the things that was done
on these was that the tracks other than track 0
had the volume number embedded in the header. I was
wondering how they dealed with this for soft sectored
disk? I don't think any of the 17xx parts allowed
a simple way to do special headers.
 Does anyone have a soft sectored controller? It
would be good to get the ROM code from one of these
to help with the emulation efforts.
